About Shea Darian

Shea Darian is an inspired speaker and workshop leader who encourages parents and caregivers to transform our often busy, chaotic 21st century lives with a greater sense of balance and peace. She offers practical and inspirational tools to build healthy, joyful family relationships.

   

Shea is the author of the 2009 Nautilus Book Awards winner, Living Passages for the Whole Family: Celebrating Rites of Passage from Birth to Adulthood. Shea's other titles include Seven Times the Sun: Guiding Your Child through the Rhythms of the Day, Sanctuaries of Childhood: Nurturing a Child’s Spiritual Life, and Grandpa’s Garden, a children’s picture book.

As part of the women's ensemble, Avalon a cappella, Shea recorded the CD Celtic Quest with Mary Thienes Schunemann and Amy Chevalier.

Shea received a BA in Speech and Theater from Iowa State University, a Master of Divinity from Garrett Seminary, and is certified as a multi-faith spiritual director. Shea is also certified in Non-profit Administration and Community Development. She has served as youth minister, minister through the arts, minister of worship, and Waldorf school administrator. Shea is a sacred arts enthusiast, particularly in the area of drama. Shea creates a home with her spouse, Andrew, and is the mother of two young adults; she considers her family to be her most sacred earthly sanctuary.
